This is a light birch plywood cutout with pyrography and stain with a brass attachment of two lions facing one another.
Its inspired by ancient statues of big cats that represent guardians placed in front of temples or homes. It is one of a series of pieces I've done exploring the ideas of animal guardians of the home or internal temple.
